    What does CBM mean?
CBM stands for Cubic Meter, which translates as cubic meter (m3), which is often used to measure units of mass in air and sea transport, when the goods are packed into containers.

How many kilograms is 1 CBM?
Depending on the means of transportation, CBM also has its own way of conversion. The specific air, land and sea conversion rates are as follows:

    CBM Kg Vehicles
    Air 1   167 kg
    Road 1 333 kg
    Sea 1 1000 kg

Why convert from CBM to Kg?
The purpose of converting from CBM to Kg is to help the carrier calculate the transportation cost in the most reasonable way, so as not to suffer losses during the calculation process.

How to calculate CBM with AIR cargo (Air)
Instruct users to calculate weight to collect freight in air shipments.

1 CBM converted to 167 kg by air

So if you need to ship a shipment of 10 pieces

    Size of 1 piece: 150cm x 120cm x 110

    Weight: 55kg

    So actual weight: 55×10 = 550kg

    CBM weight: 1.5 x 1.2 x 1.1 = 1.98 CBM * 167 = 330 kg

So the actual weight is greater than the volumetric weight. Then take the actual weight to calculate the shipping cost.

How to calculate CBM with SEA (Sea) goods
Instruct users to calculate weight to collect freight in sea shipments.

You should calculate volumetric weight constant in units of 1000 kgs / m3, making the charge in sea simpler.

For example, you need to ship a shipment with 10 pieces:

    Size of 1 piece: 120cm x 100cm x 150cm

    Weight 1 piece: 800kgs

    S1: Calculate gross weight: Total shipment weight 800 x 10 = 8000 kg.

S2: Calculate the volume of each piece:

    Size of 1 pack in meters => 1.2m x 1m x 1.5m

    Volume of 1 piece = 1.2m x 1m x 1.5m = 1.8 cbm (m3)

    Total cargo volume: 10 x 1.8 cbm = 18 cbm.

    S3: Volumetric weight of shipment

Sea shipment volumetric weight constant = 1000 kgs/cbm

    Volumetric Weight = 18 cbm x 1000 kgs/ cbm = 18000 kgs

S4: Compare the total weight of total goods compared to the volume weight of goods. Whichever number is greater, choose to charge according to that number.

As calculated above, the total weight is 8000 kg.And the weight of the volume 18000 kg.

How to calculate CBM Goods Road

The road shipment has 10 pieces:

    Size of 1 piece: 120cm x 100cm x 180cm

    Weight 1 pc: 960kgs/gross weight

Total weight of 10 pieces: 9,600 kgs

Calculate the volumetric weight of the shipment.

    Calculate CBM as follows:

The size of the bale in cm is 120cm x 100cm x 180cm

    Dimensions of bales in meters: 1.2m x 1m x 1.8m

    Volume of 1 piece = 1.2m x 1m x 1.8m = 2.16 cbm

    Total shipment volume of 10 pieces: 10 x 2.16 cbm = 21.6 cbm

Road shipment volumetric weight constant = 333 kgs/cbm
